3ee is a biodiversity monitoring system in the form of a bug hotel that is designed to use acoustic sensors to help classify pollinator species in the environment. In the developed project, using the bug hotel as an attractor, the microphone will detect and record insect sounds. The collected data can be manually analysed or used to train AI sound model to accurately identify different pollinator species. This innovative technology is integrated into a versatile "bughotel" that can be positioned in different areas.
3ee BugHotel is a project born from an idea by Martina Comola, Cemre Ercan, Chiara Guarino, Valerio Libardo and Andrea Somenzi to participate in the Open Source Solutions for the Circular Transition of Food Systems. It has been developed in Polifactory for the participation in the Distributed Design Platform, published and made available in open source mode according to the Creative Common License (CC-BY) and promoted by the Distributed Design Platform with the related documentation.
